20 April 1950 - The Anamosa Journal

Bernard F. Brady, 52, died unexpectedly Saturday night in Anamosa. Requiem high mass and funeral sermon were Tuesday morning in charge of Rev. J. A. McMahon assisted by Rev. Tomas B. Knox, Stone City. McNamara Funeral home had charge.

Casket bearers were Earl Edwards, John Shannon, Robert McCullough, John Sarver, Leonard Wegman and Emmett Crilley. Burial was in Holy Cross.

Bernard F. Brady was born March 3, 1898, in Dubuque county, the son of Frank and Marcella Brady. He moved to a farm near Monticello with his parents when he was a small child and lived there until he was married to Stella McCrea Sept. 25, 1923. He farmed until 1936 and later moved to Anamosa where he was a resident until his death.

Mr. Brady had been an employee of LaPlante-Choat Manufacture Co., Cedar Rapids, for the last several years.

He is survived by his wife and 12 children, all of whom live in or near Anamosa; Francis, Donald, Clarence; Mrs. John Schaffer, Langworthy; Corp. Marcus Brady, Camp Stoneman, Calif.; Helen, Mary Jane, Rita, Lorriane, Bobby, Donna and Michael, all at home; one grandchildren survives, Diane Schaffer. There are a number of other relatives. His parents preceded him in death.
