Funeral for Mrs. Katherine Morse, 84, was held Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic church. Rev. J. A. McMahon was in charge and also said the rosary Sunday night at Goettsch Funeral home. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery, Monticello.

Casket bearers were Ralph and John Morse, Cedar Rapids; Kenneth Jensen, West Branch; and Clarence Lutz, Anamosa, all grandsons of Mrs. Morse.

Katherine Sweeney Morse was born April 27, 1865, in Monticello, daughter of Jeremiah and Margaret Sweeney. She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Harold Gray, April 6, after a five week illness. With the exception of a year in Ireland and a year and a half in South Dakota, she has been a lifelong resident of Jones county.

She was married to William W. Morse, Nov. 30, 1889, who preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1921.

Children born were Mary E. Morse, James L. Morse and Kathrine Morse Rawson all deceased; Mrs. Edward Wirth, Monticello; Alfred W. Morse, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. W. E. Lutz, Marion and Mrs. Gray. Also surviving six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a niece.
