Clyde A. Turner, 79, died at his home in Anamosa Saturday morning following a long illness. The body was cremated and private service was held Tuesday at Riverside cemetery, Rev. Barney C. Crockett officiating. McNamara Funeral home was in charge.

Mr. Turner was born at Ames, Sept. 2, 1870. He attended school at Ames and was graduated from State University of Iowa college of pharmacy in 1887. He entered into the drug business in Waterloo, Osceola and Elkhart, Iowa. He served as hospital superintendent at Men's reformatory here for a number of years until he was forced to retire because of ill health. While employed at the reformatory Mr. Turner was also engaged in the insurance business.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Don Ruhl, near Anamosa, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Peter.
