CENTER JCT. - Funeral services for James Robert McNeilly, 76, former Center Jct. resident, were held Saturday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church. The Rev. John Beran officiated and interment was in the North Madison Pioneer cemetery.

Mr. McNeilly died of a coronary July 27 at John McDonald hospital, Monticello, following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 20, 1891, near Center Jct., the son of Matthew John and Mary Livingston McNeilly. He attended Center Jct. high school and graduated from Lenox college, Hopkinton. He also attended Iowa State university, Ames.

On March 22, 1916, he married Gladys Smith. He had farmed for a number of years near Center Jct. and later became a pioneer in the production of hybrid seed corn.

He was a member of Center Jct. Presbyterian church and was active in its youth work, and music department. He was treasurer of the Jones county Farm Bureau association.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife, two sons, Maurice James and John Newton of Shenandoah; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Jean) Balster, Scotch Grove, and Mrs. D. Homer (Ruth) Buck, Salem, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Marqurite Burr, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Mabel Hudson, Muscatine.

Pallbearers were Maurice J. McNeilly, John N. McNeilly, Leslie Balster, D. Homer Buck, Steven Balster and David Balster.
