Funeral services for Charles Stott were held Saturday afternoon, Mar. 24 at the Goettsch Funeral Home at 1:30. Mr. Stott passed away after a long period of illness. Interment was made in the Oakwood cemetery.

Charles Richard Stott, born to Henry and Mary Stottlemeyer, at Little Orleans, Maryland, on November 5, 1865 and passed away March 23, after having attained the age of 85 years, four months and 18 days. He was baptized into the Catholic faith in early infancy.

At the age of fifteen he came with his parents to Iowa and settled in the Scotch Grove township, where the family made their home.

In 1888 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Kaylor and Mr. and Mrs. Stott established their home in Monticello. They were the parents of five children. The youngest child, Mary, died in early infancy and the oldest son, George, passed away fourteen years ago.

Surviving him are Wilbur and Milton of Monticello and Mrs. Margaret Marshall of Wyoming, Iowa. Also surviving are two half-sisters and six grandchildren and one great grandchild, Mrs. Fanny King, Miss Lillie Brady and Rance W. Brady. His wife preceeded him in death eighteen years ago. Due to ill health the past fourteen months has been spent in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Margaret Marshall of Wyoming.

Pallbearers include Rex, Galen, Arlo Brady, Clifford Herr, Adelbert King, Russell Eldred, all nephews of the deceased. Rev. F. E. Somerville had charge of the services.
