Funeral services for Fred Ellsworth Darrow were held Tuesday from the Goettsch funeral home at 2 o'clock with Rev. R. V. Porter officiating. Mr. Darrow passed away at the Oakdale hospital, Saturday, July 21, at 4 p.m. He had been a patient there for the past seven months. Burial was made in the cemetery east of Monticello.

Born on September 10, 1889 at Monticello, he was the son of George W. and Martha Darrow. He grew up and made his home in and near Monticello all of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Cordelia Starks Darrow, and the following children: Edward of Cedar Rapids; John, Monticello; Eve, Mrs. Lyle Huss, Monticello; Phyllis of Cedar Rapids, and Mary, Mrs. Donald Hart, of Anamosa.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Charles Robinson of Monticello, and a brother Floyd of Sand Springs.
