Mrs. Mary Wilcox, long time resident of this vicinity, passed away at her home at 3:45 a.m. Monday morning. She had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ida Cass since 1949.

Mary Cameron was born in Ohio on August 9, 1872 to Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Cameron, and at the early age of four, she moved with her family to Onslow where the family home was established. On March 31, 1897, she was wed to Edwin Wilcox. They became the parents of seven children, one of whom died in early infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on March 31, 1947 at their son Harold's home. Mr. Wilcox preceded her in death on October 4, 1947.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox left the Onslow community and made their new home on the south edge of Monticello in 1920. She was the last of her family.

Mrs. Wilcox was an active member of the First Presbyterian church and the Ladies Aid of the church.

Survivors include her six children: Ida Cass, Harold and John Wilcox, all of Monticello; Walter, of Chevy Chase, Md.; Ethelwyn, of Logan, Utah, and Mildred McKee of Montezuma.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday from the First Presbyterian church with Rev. James W. Sala, officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery. Pallbearers were William Balsiger, Raymond Eby, Lou Ehrisman, Forest Ely, William Lang and Joe Messerli.
