Obituary of Sandra K. Alire

MONTICELLO, IOWA

Sandra K. Alire, 65 of Monticello, Iowa passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at Jones Regional Medical Center, Anamosa, Iowa.

A celebration of life will be held at the Monticello Eagles Club on Saturday, November 6, from 1 – 5 p.m.

Sandra was born on May 29 1956 in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Irene (Pecka) Faust. She married John Alire on June 17, 1998 at Riverside Gardens in Monticello, Iowa.

Sandra was a force of nature all to herself who lived a life full of everything she loved. She spent her younger years traveling the United States gathering stories and surely leaving her impression on everyone who crossed her path. Sandra eventually made Monticello her home to be near to family and friends. Many will remember her lunches at the Cotton Gin before she eventually found her place with her work family at Foam Rubber.

She was an exceptional storyteller, if you sat at a table with her, you were sure to be entertained by one of her many stories of a John Prine concert or Colorado life in the 70’s. To truly know Sandra was to love her, she had a heart of gold and all of our lives will be a little less interesting with her gone.

Survivors include her husband, John; two brothers, Tom and Robert Faust, nieces, and nephews: Nikki (Matt) Hughes, Brandon (Ashley) Faust, Allison (Dakota) Faust, and Makenzie Faust.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandmother, Agnes Pecka.
