MONTICELLO - Services for John G. Vittengle, 54, Monticello, were held Monday morning, Feb. 6, at St. Matthew Lutheran church, with interment in Czech National cemetery in Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Anton Kirkegaard conducted the service.

Mr. Vittengle died at University hospital, Iowa City, Thursday evening, Feb. 2, after an illness of several months.

He was born in Cedar Rapids June 1, 1912, the son of Frank and Frances Jouboubek Vittengle. He was a graduate of Washington high school, Cedar Rapids, and the State University of Iowa, Ames.

On Feb. 5, 1940, he married Irene Johnson. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran church, Monticello, Cedar Rapids American Legion Post and the Monticello VFW Post 1683.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Mrs. Ray Ferguson of Boca Raton, Fla., and a brother, Leo of Cedar Rapids.
