SCOTCH GROVE - William Bohlken, 85, died at John McDonald hospital Saturday evening, after an illness of four weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Wayne Zion Lutheran church near Monticello with the Rev. Luther Wachholz officiating and burial at the Wayne cemetery.

Born August 29, 1879, near Scotch Grove, he was the son of Gerke H. and Anna M. Tobiason Bohlken. He made the Scotch Grove community his home his entire life and was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church. On March 13, 1907, he was married to Engle Margaret Weers at Scotch Grove and they continued to live in that area. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Anna in infancy, Edna Stadtmueller in 1953; one grandson Dean Stadtmueller in 1963 and three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors are his wife, a daughter Mrs. Carl (Clara) C. Reuter of Center Jct. and a son Gerke of Scotch Grove. Also surviving are six grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Kate Paulsen of Center Jct.; Mrs. Mary Tobiason, Dubuque; Mrs. Howard (Grace) Soper of Anamosa and Mrs. Henry H. (Minnie) Harms of Scotch Grove.
