OLIN - Funeral services for Maude Royce Carter, 87, were held April 4 at Hayden Funeral home. The Rev. M. L. Dutro officiated. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Mrs. Darter died April 1 in a hospital in Marshall, Minn. following a short illness. She had made her home in Marshall for the past seven years.

She was born May 31, 1877 at Mt. Pleasant. She taught school for a number of years at Rock Rapids prior to her marriage to Hugh E. Carter June 28, 1898. The family home was made at Olin. She was a past matron of Hiawatha chapter OES at Olin.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Eldo (Clarice) Stingley of Marshall and one son, Clyde of Milwaukee, Wis.; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Floyd in 1942 and by her husband in 1948.
