MONTICELLO - Mrs. Ida Kissling, 85, died Dec. 27 at the nursing home in Anamosa following an illness of four months.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 1:30 p.m. from Goettsch Funeral home with the Rev. J. Benj. Wild officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Born Nov. 12, 1879 at Les Courdes, Switzerland, she was the daughter of Adolph and Marie Zaugg Ehrisman. She came to the United States with her parents in 1892. They settled in the Monticello community. The family later moved to Arkansas.

On Dec. 6, 1897, she was married to Ernest Kissling at Little Rock, Ark. The couple returned to Geneva Switzerland in 1899. Mrs. Kissling returned to the United States on a visit in 1918 and while here her husband died in Switzerland.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian church in Monticello.

Survivors include one son Theodore of South Gate, Calif.; one grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Connolly of Inglewood, Calif.; Mrs. Lawrence (Flora) Carlson of Iowa City and Mrs. Howard W. (Marie) Skelley, Monticello; seven brothers, Ed Ehrisman of Yucca Valley, Calif., Walter Ehrisman of Wagner, S.D., Charles Ehrisman of Huntington Park, Calif., Alfred Ehrisman of Inglewood, Calif., Louis Ehrisman of Monticello, Herman and Adolph Ehrismen, both of Wagner, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three sisters.

Pallbearers were Leigh Clark, Joe Messerli, Carl Schneider, Martin Buol, Richard Finson and Forrest Ely.
