MONTICELLO - Funeral services for Russell Arthur Topping, 50, were held from Goettsch Funeral home Friday with the Rev. Howard J. Eldrenkamp officiating. Burial was at Oakwood cemetery, where military services were conducted.

Mr. Topping died July 13 at his farm home in Richland township. He was born July 18, 1914 near Scotch Grove, the son of Robert and Hulda Ladehoff Topping. He attended the rural schools of Jones county and served in the Army during World War II. On July 28, 1951, he was married to Norma Jean Boots in Monticello. He was a farm laborer and truck driver.

Survivors include his wife of the home, six children, Janet, Rosetta, Sheila, Joseph, Rebecca and Sandra, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Hulda Topping, Monticello, and two sisters, Mrs. Jake Dietiker, Anamosa, and Mrs. Donald Atwood, Hebron, Ind.

Pallbearers included Floyd Neal, Arthur Rickels, Dale Ladehoff, Jack Dietiker, Dan Dietiker and Arthur Rigby.
