Hal Dale Gilmore, 63, former Anamosa resident, died Saturday, Feb. 29, in Des Moines at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Powers.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Smykil-Goettsch Home for Funerals at Anamosa. Rev. Edgar E. Walker, jr., Methodist pastor, was in charge of the service. Mrs. Grace Porter sang two vocal selections, accompanied by Mrs. Glen A. Russell. Burial was in Green cemetery.

Casket bearers were: Loyal Byerly, Delbert Brickley, Roy Weighels, J. E. Porter, all of Anamosa; Hillis Armstrong, Viola, and Fred Kauffman, Mechanicsville.

Hal Dale Gilmore, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Gilmore, was born at Olin on May 22, 1884. Except for six years spent in Waterloo and two years in Des Moines, Mr. Gilmore had lived all his life in the vicinity of Anamosa.

He was married to Grace Blayney on August 25, 1904 at Galena, Ill. Four children were born to the union. Mr. Gilmore was a member of the Methodist church of Anamosa.

Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Leslie Craig, Des Moines; Mrs. Robert Modeland, Shenandoah; and Mrs. Robert Powers, Des Moines. One daughter, Pauline, died at the age of two years. Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. Frank Knight, Viola; and two brothers, Stace Gilmore, Cedar Rapids, and Forest Gilmore, Olin; and six grandchildren.
