Funeral service for Mrs. John D. Hinrichs, 85, was held at Wayne Zion Lutheran church Monday. Mrs. Hinrichs died at a Monticello hospital on Friday, July 5, after an illness of several years. She was a resident of Jones county since 1887.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, John Henry and Henry Tobias Henrichs, both of Monticello, and a daughter, Mrs. Albert Oltmans. She also leaves three brothers and a sister in Germany.

Mrs. Hinrichs was a daughter of John Henry Janssen and his wife Taale Maria Rieken. She was born on July 11, 1860, at Marx, province of Hanover, Germany. She was married March 5, 1887, in Germany and she and her husband came to America, settling near Monticello in March of the same year. Three sons and two daughters preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Henry E. Husman, Ed Helgens, Bennie Tobiason, William Wolken, Herman Herren and Henry G. Bohlken.

Rev. F. H. Kehren conducted the service with burial in the Wayne church cemetery.
