OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the late home for Daniel Meade, 52, and at two o'clock from the English Lutheran church. Rev. Wesley J. Buck had charge of the service. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Louis Ingwersen, Mrs. Otto Koranda and L. L. McCreight, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Palmer Vaughn. Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Douglas Meade, Maxine Meade and Donna Jean Meade.

Pallbearers were: Douglas Meade, Emery Meade, Stanley Leslie, Henry Leslie, Edward Meade and Lester Meade. Interment was in the Mayflower cemetery with military rites by members of the Wapsie Post of the American Legion of Oxford Junction with Otto Lasack, commander, and members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, with E. Null, commander, Monticello.

Daniel James Meade died at his home in Oxford Mills Thursday morning, Oct. 24, after a long illness. He was born Dec. 4, 1893, in Oxford Mills, son of J. E. and Emma Meade. He was united in marriage to Elsie McKinstry, Anamosa, March 9, 1919. They made their home in Oxford Mills where Mr. Meade was employed for 28 years as hydro-engineer at the Iowa Electric plant.

He was a veteran of World War one. He is survived by the widow, one son, Ronald E. Meade; an daughter, Mrs. Julia Crabtree, two granddaughters and a grandson, all of Oxford Mills; two brothers, Russell Meade, Anamosa, and O. J. Meade, Oxford Mills, and a sister, Mrs. Tom Weiss, Fulton, Ill.
