OLIN - Funeral service for Eleazer A. McCormick, 72, who died Saturday, June 22, at the home of his son, Ray, in Anamosa, was held Monday afternoon, June 24, at the United Brethren church. Rev. W. T. Boston was the officiating minister. Burial was made in the Olin cemetery. Mrs. Joe Clay and Mrs. Alfred Pauli sang two numbers accompanied by Mrs. Frank Miles at the piano. Pallbearers were: Harold McCammant, Paul Hartwig, J. H. Ballou, Wilbur Darrow, Arthur McGuire and Ernest Rasmussen.

Eleazer Andrew McCormick, oldest son of John and Charlotte McCormick was born in Madison township, Jones county, Iowa, Sept. 2, 1873. He attended school and church at Pleasant Valley, north of Olin, where he was converted and baptized. Later he completed his high school and business course in Olin.

In 1904 he was married to Bertha Ellis, Iowa City a lifetime schoolmate. To this union three sons and one daughter were born. Oldest son preceded his father in death.

His life work was farming until poor health forced him to retirement.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Eugene, Olin, and Ray, Anamosa; one daughter, Mrs. M. Studer, Mechanicsville; 11 grandchildren, and two brothers, James, Chariton, and Jay, Olin.
