Mrs. Mate Oltmanns, who was afflicted with a heart ailment, died Friday afternoon, April 5, at 1:20, at the John McDonald hospital. She had been taken to the hospital two days before for treatment. Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter and Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church in Castle Grove township. Rev. H. A. Diers, pastor, officiated. Burial was made at the cemetery adjoining the church.

Mrs. Oltmanns, whose maiden name was Talke Margaretha Hinrichs, was born Oct. 11, 1891, in Wayne township, a daughter of John Dirk and Hilke Katherina Hinrichs. She was baptized and confirmed by the late Rev. Mardorf. She was married April 30, 1919, to John Henry Oltmanns, by the Rev. John P. Willms.

Five children were born to this union, one of whom died during childhood. In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following children, Carl, Albert and Emil Oltmanns, and Mrs. Marie Kaprone, and one grandchild. She is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Hinrichs; a sister, Mrs. Albert Oltmanns, and two brothers, J. Henry Hinrichs and Tobias Hinrichs.
