Funeral services for Mrs. Richard Renk were held from the Sacred Heart church, Monticello, Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. Her pastor, Rev. Eugene Lorenz, officiated at the Mass. Interment was made at the Sacred Heart cemetery.

Mrs. Renk was Vergit Farrell, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Farrell. She was born in Castle Grove township, March 17, 1877. She attended the rural schools in Castle Grove and during the last 40 years of her life she resided in Monticello.

She was married to Richard Renk, Nov. 15, 1928, in Monticello. Since that time Mr. and Mrs. Renk have made their home on East Third street.

Mrs. Renk is survived by her husband; four sisters, Mrs. Karl Renk, Monticello; Mrs. Mary Murray, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Frank Turner, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Edward Kelley, Independence; and two brothers, Archie Farrell of Cedar Rapids and David Farrell of Rock Island, also by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Olmstead and Mrs. Alice Brady, and a brother, Patrick Farrell.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral included Mrs. Julia Horn and Mrs. Anna Henderson, Bloomfield; Mrs. Edward Kelley and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rosenstell, Independence; Mrs. Frank Turner and Archie Farrell, Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Renk had been in failing health for several years. However, he death Sunday, April 7, was rather sudden. Her family has the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends.
