27 December 1945 - The Anamosa Journal

Truman Peet, 64, died Saturday, Dec. 22, at a Clinton hospital following an emergency operation for a ruptured appendix. A native of Anamosa, Mr. Peet was employed as a foreman on the Northwestern railroad. He was a member of the Masonic lodge for 35 years.

Surviving are his wife of Maquoketa, two daughters, Mrs. Ed Womachka, Maquoketa, and Mrs. John Wirth, Elwood; his father, James Peet, Waubeek and two grandchildren. His brother, Ernest Peet, died in November, 1944.

Funeral service was held Monday Dec. 24, at Maquoketa. Those attending from Anamosa were Mrs. Howard Beardsley and family and Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Beardsley.
