June 21, 1945 - The Anamosa Journal

OXFORD JUNCTION - Funeral service was held Monday morning at nine o'clock from the Sacred Heart church for Mrs. Frank J. Nowachek, 51, who died Friday morning at the Mercy hospital, Anamosa, where she had been a patient for the last week.

The Rev. Father Joseph Gregor conducted the service. Those serving as pallbearers were Bernard Nowachek, Frank Koranda, Joseph Milota, Louis Petersen, Antone Vacek and Charles Novotny, Cedar Rapids. Interment was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Nowachek was born Lydia Chihak, Oct. 10, 1893, at Dubuque, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Chihak. She was united in marriage to Frank Nowachek, and the home was made in Oxford Junction. She was a member of the Sacred Heart church.

Survivors are her husband, one son, Sergt. Donald Nowachek, Lomite, Calif., three daughters, Mrs. Angeline Robinson, Davenport; Mrs. Dorothy Joslin, and Delores, Oxford Junction; her mother, Mrs. Frances Chihak, a sister, Mrs. J. McCauley and a brother, Anthony Chihak, Dubuque, and four grandchildren.
