Funeral service for James W. (Cap) Cavanaugh, 78, was held Monday morning at St. Patrick's church, Anamosa. Rev. J. A. McMahon read the funeral mass.

Stricken Friday evening at 5:30 o'clock with a heart attack, Mr. Cavanaugh was found by his sister, Miss None Cavanaugh, with whom he made his home.

McNamara funeral home was in charge of the service. Burial was made in Holy Cross cemetery.

Mr. Cavanaugh was born Jan. 27, 1866, in Anamosa, a son of Maurice and Mary Cavanaugh. He was a painter and interior decorator for many years.

Surviving are two sisters, Miss None Cavanaugh and Mrs. Martha Dailey.

Pallbearers were Maurice Fay, John Hayes, Harry Porter, Frank Snyder, Charles Foley and Phil Daly. Rosary service was held Sunday night at the McNamara funeral home.
