Funeral service for Virtis L. Boxwell, 57, who died Saturday morning at his home in Martelle following an illness of several months, was held Monday at the Methodist church in Martelle.

Rev. Albion King, Mount Vernon, conducted the service. Miss Margaret Murfield sang. Pallbearers were Leonard Gordon, Lee Pospishil, Gerald Darsee, Louis Bobst, Kenneth Gordon and Lee Bobst. Burial was at Norwich cemetery.

Virtis L., son of Mary A. and Frank Boxwell, was born near Martelle, July 8, 1887. At an early age he joined the church. He was not married.

He was a member of the Knights of Pythias of Martelle. He entire life was spent in the Martlle community.
