Francis Trifley Mere, 60, died Wednesday morning, June 10, following an accident at the Fred Gray farm northeast of Anamosa, when he was pinned between a truck and a loading chute. He was dead on arrival at Mercy hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 13, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Anamosa. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery. McNamara Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Billy Boyles, Dwaine Shaffer, Patrick Dearborn, Maynard Siebels, Russell Gray and Irvin Gadient.

He was born the son of Isadore and Fanny Sampica Mere. He had lived on a farm most of his life. He had never married.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Vina Allen, Delheart, Texas, Mrs. Laura Gray, Anamosa; Mrs. Martha Dailey, Delheart, Texas, and Mrs. Elmer Lathrop, Marion, and several nieces and nephews.
