WYOMING--Frederick Luckstead, 88, died Jan. 29 in the home of his son, George, after a month's illness. He had been one of six men who had been instrumental in organizing the Zion's Lutheran church and purchasing the building from the Methodists over 50 years ago. Mr. Luckstead was confirmed in Bellvue in 1870.

He was born in Mecklenburg, Germany, on Aug. 5, on a farm between Charlotte and Spragueville. In 1875 he married Wilhelmina Holtz and for two years the couple lived near Charlotte. Then they moved to a farm south of Wyoming, which has been in the family now for 64 years, being farmed at present by his grandson. His wife died on May 16, 1920.

Mr. Luckstead is survived by six children, Mrs. Gus Von Sprecken and William, Hale; George and Mrs. Fred Pankow, both of Wyoming; August, Onslow; and Mrs. Tillie Ehler, Olin; two sisters, Mrs. John Schrader, Center Junction, and Mrs. Fred Storm, Wyoming; and one brother, August, Olin; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Friends and relatives from out of town who attended the funeral services included Carl Harmsen, Durant, Mr. and Mrs. George Peterson, Sunbury; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Housman, Stockton; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Luckstead, Charlotte; Mr. and Mrs. John Luckstead, Clinton, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hansen, Cedar Rapids.

Funeral service on Friday was held in the Harrington Funeral chapel and in the Zion's Lutheran church, Rev. G. J. Zeilinger officiated. Burial took place in the Wyoming cemetery.
