Mrs. Dietrich J. Dirks, 74, died Monday, Sept. 18, at her home in the Wayne community, following a long illness. Funeral service was held last Friday, Sept. 22, at the Wayne Zion Lutheran church, Rev. F. H. Kehren officiating. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Pallbearers were Henry B. Bohlken, Adolph Dierks, Henry Echuette, Fred E. Poppe, Rolland Bronneman and Leslie Doyle.

Wuebke Marie Eden was born May 5, 1870, in Upshoert county, East Friesland, Hanover, Germany, daughter of Eilke and Margaretha Eden. She was confirmed at Reepsholt at the age of 15, and came to the Unites States in 1894, when she was 24 years old.

She married Dietrich J. Dirks in 1896. Four children were born to the union, one of whom, Henry D. Died in 1924. Mr. Dirks died in August, 1941. One brother and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Mrs. Henry (Tena) Weers, Ernest Dirks, and Mrs. Lawrence (Emma) Schafer; four grandchildren, Alvin and Mayeda Weeks, Darrell and Dewayne Schafer.
