MARTELLE--Mrs. Ethel Elizabeth Kuntz, 85, Martelle, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a heart attack.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 20, at 2:30 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Raymond L. Roth, Martelle, conducted the service. Burial was in the Norwich cemetery, Martelle.

Pallbearers included Dillon Holcomb, Charles Busch, Herman Schmidt, Arthur Berkenpas, Leo Youngblut and Loren Stewart.

She was born Oct. 9, 1878, daughter of George Beighle and Josephine Sweeney Beighle, Lansing. She was married to John Bower and they were parents of a daughter, Clara. Mr. Bower and the daughter, Clara, preceded her in death.

She later married Charles Kuntz who preceded her in death in 1952. She had lived most of her life in the Martelle community. She was a member of the Christian church, Martelle.

Survivors include one brother, George Beighle, Martelle; one niece, Mrs. Frank Crilly, Billings, Mont.; one nephew Lyall Beighle, Lisbon.

Beside her husband and daughter she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
