OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, June 10, at 1:30, at the Hayden Funeral home, Oxford Junction, for Jerry Trinka, 81, who died Friday evening June 7, at his home in Oxford Junction, of a heart condition. Rev. Ramon Booth, of the Assembly of God church conducted the service. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Hymns were sung by Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Hayden.

Pallbearers were Otto Benhart, Ed Zak, Paul Zell, Tom Hunwardsen, Joe Kulhavy and Fred Petersen.

Jerry Trinka, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Trinka, was born in Czechoslavakia Dec. 9, 1881. He came with his parents to America and to Oxford Junction when a small boy and lived his early life in Oxford Junction. He was united in marriage to Mary Yanda, Oxford Junction, in 1911.

Mr. Tinka was conductor with the Rock Island railroad for 35 years and at that time they made their home in Cedar Rapids, returning to Oxford Junction 16 years ago when he retired.

Survivors include his wife, one son, James, Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mildred, at home; Mrs. Pauline Strait, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Maxine Davis, California; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
