Obituary of George A. Sherman, who died Dec. 10, in California, is printed for benefit his friends in Jones county.

George Andrew Sherman, son of Joseph and Angie Waggoner Sherman, was born at Anamosa, April 10, 1897, and grew up in the Anamosa and Olin vicinities. He was a veteran of World War I and spent some time overseas.

On Dec. 18, 1919, he was married to Hester Greene, Olin. To them were born three children, Mrs. Donald Reeder, Long Beach, Calif.; PFC Robert Sherman, Waco, Texas, and Dorothy Sherman, Compton, Calif. Besides these, he is survived by four half-brothers, Charles Sherman, Savanna, Ill.; Willard Sherman, U. S. Veteran's hospital, Dearborn, Mich.; Lew Reese, Milan, Ill., and Zirl Reese, Spokane, Wash.

He was a member of the Anamosa Baptist church and American Legion, also the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars of San Fernando, Calif.

Mr. Sherman died at the Veterans hospital, San Fernando, Dec. 10, 1943, at the age of 46 years. Burial was at the National cemetery at Santelle, Calif., Dec. 14, 1943.
