OXFORD JCT.--Funeral service for William Collingwood Thorne, 82, was held Monday afternoon from the family home at Oxford Junction.

E. A. Grimwood delivered the funeral address. Other service was in charge of the Masonic lodge.

Music was provided by a women's quartet consisting of Mesdames J. Havlik, Arthur Lathrop, Ed Leffingwell, and Palmer Vaughn, with Mrs. Ernest Schwab as pianist. The floral offerings were in charge of Miss Annabelle Zak, Mrs. Ed Clausen, Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. John Stuhr.

Casket bearers were C. H. Jones, F. E. Moravec, Fred Buresh, Fred Harms, George Williams and Ernest Schwab. Honorary casket bearers were L. E. Hayden and Henry Mowry, both of Oxford Junction; A. P. Reid, Herman Hoeltke and Elmer Mowry, all of Lowden; and C. O. Mowry, Toronto.

Mr. Thorne died Saturday morning after a long illness. He was born May 16 in Toronto, the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Thorne, early settlers. He was an employee of the Milwaukee Railroad Co. in the bridge building department for 32 years and has been retired since 1910.

He was married May 28, 1911 to Mrs. Emma Holtz, Oxford Junction, who survives with two stepdaughters, Mrs. Charles Rogers, Davenport and Mrs. A. E. Hodoval of Oxford Junction, one nephew, J. G. Thorne, Maquoketa; and a niece, Mrs. Etta Plank, Davenport.

Mr. Thorne was a member of the Masonic lodge for 49 years; he first joined the Zeredetha lodge at Wheatland but later was transferred to Zealous lodge at Oxford Junction of which he served as treasurer for many years, having just resigned recently, he was also a member of the Peerless chapter O.E.S.
