A little boy named Davis was drowned in the Buffalo river at Anamosa. As nearly as the facts can be ascertained, a number of children were seen by H. A. Turner, who superintends the prison farm, and as there seemed to be an unusual commotion he went over to the river and found one of the children was in the water. Other help soon arrived, but it was an hour before the body was found. The water at this place is about fifteen feet deep.
