CENTER JCT.--Mrs. John B. Moses, 83, died Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in her home in Center Junction. Death came while she was taking her usual afternoon nap.

Mrs. Moses had been in failing health for some time due to a heart ailment, but was able to be up most of the time.

Funeral service was held from the home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Frank Schrader, Onslow, officiating.

Burial was made in the Scotch Grove cemetery. Casket bearers were Dwaine and Max Moses and Jack Stingley, grandsons of John Shover, Russet and James Hughes, nephews.

Clara Calina Moses, was born near Hanover, Ill., March 18, 1857, the daughter of John and Salina Hughes.

At the age of 13 years she came to Scotch Grove with her parents. After attending Lenox college, Hopkinton, she taught school for a few years.

In 1877, she was married to John B. Moses, Scotch Grove.

The home was made in Scotch Grove township until 1907, when they moved to their farm close to Center Junction, where she has lived ever since.

Three children were born to this union, Charles, who died in 1931, and Ethel Stingley and Merlin Moses, both of Center Junction. Her husband died in 1922.

Besides the daughter and son, she is survived by four brothers, G. J. Hughes, Scotch Grove; John N. Hughes, Des Moines; William P. Hughes, Council Bluffs, and Ed. C. Hughes, Marion. Five grand children and three great-grandsons also survive. Three sisters preceded her in death.

She had been a member of the church for 70 years and while in Center Junction was active in the Presbyterian church and all its organizations.

She was interested especially in missions, having served the local group as secretary for 15 consecutive years. A few years ago she was made an honorary member on the Board of National Missions, for being the oldest member in years and the longest in service in the Center Junction Missionary society.
