CENTER JUNCTION--Funeral service for Andrew R. McDonald, 35, who was killed Saturday when he fell from a tractor beneath the wheels of a wagon, was held in the Center Junction Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14. Rev. Frank Schroeder, Onslow, officiated.

Hymns were sung by Dorothy Dreibelbis, Mrs. G. R. Mead, Lyle Thompson and John Alyea. Casket bearers included Dale Dodge, Merle Caldwell, Joe Mead, Harvey Manual, Merle Pangburn and Harry Scheele. Burial was made in Madison Pioneer cemetery.

Andrew Roosevelt McDonald, son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. McDonald, Center Junction, was born on a farm near here, Nov. 23, 1904. His entire life was spent in this community.

He died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, May 11, while enroute to a Cedar Rapids hospital, following injuries sustained at 4:30 p.m., when he fell from a tractor and was run over by a wagon load of corn drawn by the tractor. His chest was crushed.

The accident happened on the Henry Rittmer farm near Mechanicsville, where Mr. McDonald and his family had been guests at a family dinner.

On January 15, 1927, he was joined in marriage to Esther Rittmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rittmer, Monticello.

Surviving are his wife and 12-year-old daughter, Audra; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McDonald; three brothers, Guy, Clifford and Scott, all of Center Junction; four sisters, Beth Glick, Cedar Rapids; Ethel Stickley, Monticello; Lulu Kleineck, Onslow, and Margaret Downing, Anamosa. One brother, John, preceded him in death.

"Andy" as he was familiarly known, was a graduate of the Center Junction high school; had served as assessor for many years; was treasurer of the Center Junction school district and was engaged in the trucking business and the managing of a service station at the time of his death. He joined the Presbyterian church in his early youth.
