CENTER JUNCTION--Funeral service for Ed H. Dirks, Cedar Rapids, former resident of Center Junction, who died Tuesday morning at a Cedar Rapids hospital from injuries received in a fall received two weeks ago, were set for Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Cedar Rapids and at 2 p.m. at Wayne Lutheran church. Mr. Dirks, a painter, was at work when the accident occurred.

Mr. Dirks was born Sept. 1, 1893 in Wayne township, the son of Gerd J. and Johanna Dirks. He was educated in the rural schools of Jones county and attended the Wayne Zion Lutheran church, where he was confirmed by Rev. C. Mardorf.

In July 1914, he was married to Anna Landherr and lived for a number of years at Amber. Later he moved to Cedar Rapids, where he has resided since, with the exception of a few years spent in Chicago.

Mr. Dirks has been engaged in painting and decorating work. He is survived by his wife, his father, who lives in Center Junction; and one brother, Harm J. Dirks, who lives also at Center Junction.
