28 September 1961 - The Anamosa Eureka

Milo A. Rubek, 56, former resident of Anamosa and Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Sept. 22, following a brief illness, in the Ringgold county hospital.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m., in the Christian church, Mount Ayr. Rev. Howard Wakelin with the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral home was in charge of the service.

Services were held Monday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. in the Brosh chapel, Cedar Rapids. Burial was in the Czech National cemetery.

He was born in Cedar Rapids July 27, 1905.

Mr. Rubek lived a total of 12 years in the Anamosa vicinity. He worked as an assistant county engineer when he first came to Anamosa. He later moved to Lincoln, Nebr., to work at the Lincoln Airbase, then returned to Anamosa and was employed as county engineer. He moved from Anamosa to Mount Ayr.

He was a civil engineer and Ringgold county engineer for the last 12 years; a member of the Mount Ayr town council, Industrial corporation, Masonic lodge and Mount Ayr Christian church.

Survivors include his wife, Leone, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Rubek, Cedar Rapids.

Claude Hamlin, Jones county engineer, attended the services in Cedar Rapids. Others attending included Jones county supervisors Everett Mayberry and William J. Bailey, Anamosa; Robert Alden, Wyoming; Lee Crain, Olin, and Henry Adam, Monticello.

Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Humpal, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Rees and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ruhl all of Anamosa, and Mr. and Mrs. Max McCrabb, Monticello.
