OLIN--C. J. Brickley, 84, one of Olin's senior citizens, died at his home early Sunday evening, June 24.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret, and a large number of other relatives and friends.

11 July 1962 - The Anamosa Eureka

OLIN--Clarence James Brickley, 84, Olin, died Sunday, June 24, at his home.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 27, at the Methodist church, Olin. Rev. J. Schlosser officiated at the services. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Masonic services were conducted by Dean Henderson at the cemetery.

Masons who served as pallbearers included J. R. Cousins, Clyde Taylor, Robert Sharon, Glenn Brown, Richard Grafft and Willard Hoyman.

Mrs. Leon Stivers, soloist, was accompanied by Linda Sharon.

He was born Jan. 28, 1878, son of James T. and Elizabeth Brickley, Olin.

He attended public school at Olin and attended Cornell college. He worked for a time in the local bank. He moved to Des Moines in 1915 where he worked as an accountant for a candy manufacturing firm.

He was married Sept. 8, 1925, to Margaret Coull. Couple made their home in Des Moines for awhile, later they moved to the Olin vicinity where they continued to make their home.

He was a member of the Methodist church for 67 years, and for many years was an active member of the church board. He was a 50-year member of the local Masonic lodge and an active member of the Iowa State Historical society.

He is survived by his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Clara and Anna.
