OXFORD JUNCTION--Fred J. Burian, 61, Oxford Junction, died Thursday evening, May 3, at the Veterans hospital, Iowa City, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 6, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hayden Funeral home. Rev. Ramon Booth, of the Assembly of God church, conducted the service. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Pallbearers were Thomas Hunwardsen, Jerry Mulvihill, L. L. McCreight, Emile Koranda, Gale Peters and Ervin Hansen.

Military graveside services were held by Wapsie post of the American Legion.

Mrs. Hayden was organist. Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen were vocalists.

He was born Nov. 15, 1900, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Burian, Oxford Junction. He had always made his home in Oxford Junction. He was a veteran of World war II.

Survivors include his mother, and one brother, Emile, both of Oxford Junction.
