MARTELLE--Lewis Kohl, 78, died Sunday evening at his home five miles south of Martelle in the White Oak neighborhood. Mr. Kohl has been a life long resident in the Martelle community. Mr. Kohl was famous as a professional wrestler who in his youth wrestled Burns and other champions. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. William Bailey, Morley; one son, Amos Kohl, Marion, and five grandchildren.

Funeral service was held in the White Oak church Wednesday, May 6, at 2:30 p.m. Service was read by Rev. C. L. Windsor, Morley. Music was furnished by H. M. Kyle, F. A. McCoy, William D. Frantz, Lynn Murfield and Merlin Baker and accompanied by Mrs. Robert Peet.

Casket bearers were: Mervin Switzer, Perry Russell, Ralph Kuntz, Otis Sivers, Lynn Murfield and Merlin Baker.

Burial was at the White Oak cemetery, Mechanicsville. Beam & Miller Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of the service.
