March 18, 1943 - The Anamosa Journal

Mrs. B. E. Rhinehart died Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. at Mercy hospital. Mrs. Rhinehart was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Rhinehart is the mother of four children, Robert Hartman, Anamosa; Mrs. Don Turner, Toronto, Canada; Mrs. Charles Weber, Lansing, Mich., and Mrs. A. G. Peters, Rochester, Minn.

Mrs. Rhinehart was Mrs. J. A. Hartman, before her marriage to Mr. Rhinehart about a year ago.

March 25, 1943 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for Mrs. B. E. Rhinehart was held last Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Congregational church in Anamosa. Rev. Homer E. Dalrymple conducted the service with Smykil Home for Funerals in charge.

Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Anamosa.

Mrs. Rhinehart was born Charlotte Page, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Page, on a farm near Princeton, Ill. Her early years were spent near Dover, Ill., where she attended the village school. She graduated from Princeton high school in 1893. Following her graduation she taught school in Bureau county, Illinois, for a year and later in Cass township, Jones county, Iowa. From Cass she came to Anamosa where she taught in the grade school.

In June, 1899, she married J. A. Hartman. To this union were born four children, Robert, Lois, Helen and Hilda.

She joined the Congregational church as a young girl in Dover, Ill., and later transferred to the Congregational church of Anamosa. She taught in the Sunday school for 40 years and was active in the women's organizations.

She was a charter member of the Daughters of American Revolution and a member of the Fort-nightly club. Mrs. Hartman helped organize the Anamosa Garden club.

Mr. Hartman died in July, 1935.

On June 10, 1942, Mrs. Hartman was married to Bennett E. Rhinehart, Anamosa.

Survivors are: Mr. Rhinehart; one son, Robert Hartman; three daughters, Mrs. Don Turner, Toronto, Canada; Mrs. Charles Weber, Lansing, Mich., and Mrs. A. G. Peters, Rochester, Minn., two sisters, Miss Annette Page and Mrs. John Hensel, both of Stevens Point, Wis.
