Walter G. Reese, 60, Anamosa, died Wednesday, July 4, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran church, Anamosa. Rev. LaVerne Beener will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Antioch cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa.

He was born Sept. 12, 1901, son of Gustav Reese and Bertha Grage Reese, Heide, Holstein, Germany. He was married Jan. 20, 1934, to Marcella Kahn, at Owatonna, Minn.

Couple made their home on a farm near Anamosa, where Mr. Reese operated a Pony farm. He had served on the Cass township school board.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella; one daughter, Mrs. Jack Burkey, Anamosa; one brother, Peter, Germany; two sisters, Lina and Elsa, Germany; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
