The Anamosa Eureka, Thursday, January 28th, 1875
DIED

MRS. ANNA L. McFARLAND was born in Penn., moved to Ohio, from thence to this state. Her maiden name was Knight. She was married Nov. 16, 1869. After a long and prostrated illness all of whom she bore with Christian fortitude, she passed away in holy triumph to enjoy eternal rest.that remain – the people of God. She passed away in Wyoming, Sep. 9, 1874 her residence being in Center Junction. Rev. H. H. Green preached her funeral sermon from- words, “Who shall change our vile body - may be fashioned un to his glorious body .---husband and two little children. Among the words that she said, speaking of her, “you will all come soon, “ and two of them have already gone to the spirit world.” LILY MAY died Dec. 22nd, sick only 15 hours; aged 2 years, 6 months and 17 days. Rev. W. N. Chaffee was called to preach the funeral sermon, but by his request Rev. H. H. Green preached the sermon speaking comforting words to the bereft father and friends. Only one more light now in the dwelling of Bro. McFarland, LIBBIE BELL, and she died Dec. 24th having been sick from her birth, age 6 months and 26 days. Rev. w. N. Chaffee attended the funeral preaching from the words, “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.” Words of sympathy were addressed to the friends and they were commanded to the Savior. May God sustain the bereft has and father in this sore affliction. W. N. CHAFFEE
