OLIN--William Harold McCammant, 56, Olin, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 17, following a heart attack.

Prayer service was held at the family home on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 1:30 p.m. Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary, Olin, at 2 p.m. Rev. Lloyd Dutro, was in charge of the services. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included Hans Rohwedder, Merle Ballou, William Reese, John McDonald, Arno Lawson and John Holmes.

Flower committee of the E.U.B. church was in charge of the floral tributes.

He was born Feb. 3, 1905, son of William H. and Emma Humphrey McCammant, near Mechanicsville. He grew to manhood in the Mechanicsville vicinity.

June 18, 1928, he was married to Nona Glick, Anamosa. Family lived for brief periods in Wyoming and near Martelle. They moved to Olin several years ago where they continued to reside.

For approximately 12 years he had been engaged in the logging business and also associated with Merle Ballou in the excavating business.

He was a member of the D.O.K.K. society and of Knights of Pythias, having served the latter organization as secretary.

Survivors include his wife, Nona; five daughters, June, Mrs. Byron Darling, Smithfield, Texas; Jeanne, Mrs. Carl Ficken, Cedar Rapids; Betty McCammant, Davenport; Rae, Mrs. Darwin Keegan, Cedar Rapids; and Jana McCammant, at home.

Others include three sisters, Mrs. Lee Blunk, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Wilda Murray, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Robert House, Davenport; two brothers, Howard, Clarion, and Willard, Big Rock, Iowa; eight grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons.
