MONTICELLO--Mrs. John G. Mardorf, 84, Monticello, died Friday, Dec. 1, at John McDonald hospital, Monticello, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at St. Matthew Lutheran church, Monticello. Rev. J. P. Willms officiated at the services. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello. Goettsch Funeral home, Monticello, was in charge of arrangements.

She was born Matilda Katherine Zimmerman, Feb. 17, 1877, daughter of Arend G. and Anna Grumm Zimmerman, Wayne township.

She was married to John Mardorf June 3, 1903. Couple farmed in Wayne township one year and then in Jackson township. They moved to Monticello in 1937. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran church.

Survivors include two daughters, Celena, Mrs. Louis Schladetsky, Olin; Florence, Mrs. Herbert Lehrman, Olin; one son, Carl Mardorf, Anamosa; one brother, John B. Zimmerman, Monticello, and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sept. 10, 1955; five brothers and four sisters.
