OLIN--Mrs. Elsie McCrea, 80, Olin, died Thursday, May 16, at Anamosa.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 20, at 2 p.m. at the Hayden Funeral home, Olin. Rev. John R. Schlesser officiated at the service. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included Ronald Goldsmith, Robert Glenn, Robert Goldsmith, Richard McCrea, Darrell McCrea and Duane McCrea.

Mrs. Leon Stivers was soloist. Mrs. Galen Alexander was pianist.

She was born Aug. 30, 1882, daughter of John and Ellen Ellis Gallagher, Hale. She lived in Iowa most of her life. She was married Dec. 6, 1900, to William I. McCrea.

As a child she lived with her maternal grandparents near Hale, attending the grade school there and graduating from the high school at Olin.

Following her marriage, couple lived on a farm for a number of years in Jones county, as well as several years in North Dakota. Following retirement they made their home for a time at Atalissa before moving to the Olin area. She was a 46 year member of the Methodist church, Olin, and a member of Women's Society of Christian service.

Survivors include four children, Glenn McCrea, Tipton; Ruth, Mrs. Guy Taylor, Anamosa; Walter McCrea, Rochester; and Arthur McCrea, Davenport; four children, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and Roscoe, and her husband in November 1960.
