OLIN--Mrs. Bessie Switzer, 81, Olin, died on Sunday, March 17, at Independence, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 19, at the Hayden Funeral home, Olin. Rev. Lloyd Dutro, pastor of the Olin E.U.B. church, conducted the service. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included Earnest Hotz, Ervin Hotz, Mervin Hotz, Melvin Hotz, Eldon Hotz, and Raymond James.

Mrs. Leon Stivers was vocalist. Mrs. Galen Alexander was pianist.

She was born Bessie Gertrude Palmer, June 1, 1881, at Maquoketa. She was married Jan. 22, 1902, to Sam Switzer at Savanna, Ill. She had lived in the Olin community her entire married life. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church, Olin.

Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dec. 14, 1950; her daughter, Bernice, Feb. 9, 1946; a brother and sisters.
