DIED

In Wyoming, Jones County, Iowa, March 6th, 1857
Mrs. CORDELIA, consort of Mr. Ervin Green aged 30 years.

The subject of this notice emigrated from Ohio about two years and a half since, having a chronic disease from which it was then thought she could not recover. But the bracing prairie nir of Iowa, strengthened the lungs, and gave evidence that there was still recuperative power for a restoration of health. Her friends however were sadly disappointed, for the fatal consumption had marked her for his prey and the destroyer slowly but surely did his work.

As she came hear the close, Faith and Hope triumphed. She called her children, and bade them an affectionate farewell, and the hour of her departure, said to her husband, “My dear, meet me in heaven”-to her brother. “Meet me there. Blin lagss is coming upon me, “and with clasped hands, she breathed out, Bless the Lord, Bless the Lord-I shall soon be with the Savior,” then without a struggle or a groan passed sweetly to her eternal home. Bro. Green has been called to mourn the departure of her two companions; but both died happy. May his end be like glorious.

The writer, by the request of the deceased, conducted the funeral exercises, improving from “All flesh id grass.” &c. The occasion was one of solemnity-this being the first funeral in our rapidly increasing village. May God bless it to our souls’ health. S. M. BRONSON
