Anamosa, Ia., April 24--C. M. Hubbell died Thursday morning very suddenly without any previous illness, presumably from heart failure. Mr. Hubbell was a long time resident of Jones county. He farmed for many years near Martelle, where he still owns one of the finest farms in this county. He married Miss Augusta Peet and several years ago Mr. and Mrs. Hubbell and their two daughters moved to Anamosa, purchased a beautiful home and have resided here ever since. Mrs. Hubbell passed away a few years ago. Mr. Hubbell was highly esteemed by everyone; he had a cheerful disposition and cordial manner which made him a pleasant acquaintance. He was upright and reliable and having sufficient of this world's goods to enable him to take life easily he did thoroughly enjoy living and dispensing a cordial hospitality to his friends. Miss Rena Hubbell has lived with her father since her mother's death and has been the best of daughters and companions to her father. The other daughter, now Mrs. Park Chamberlain, also resides in Anamosa, but at the time of her father's death was on her way to Washington, D.C.
