OXFORD JUNCTION--Funeral service for Sarah A. Prosser, 89, oldest woman in Oxford Junction, was held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lathrop and from the Lutheran church at 2 p.m.

Rev. Walter A. Wolgemuth was in charge of the services and music was given by a quartet consisting of Mesdames A. E. Hodovol, Joseph Havlik, G. E. Leffingwell and Palmer Vaughn, with Mrs. Ernest Schwab as accompanist. Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. George Shimerda, Mrs. Louie Ingwersen and Mrs. Charles Novotny, Cedar Rapids.

Those serving as pallbearers were Antone Blizek, Herman Tech, Ernest Schwab, R. E. Hill, Guy Culver and Charles Novotny, Cedar Rapids. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Prosser was born in Summitt county, Ohio, near Cleveland Feb. 29, 1852, and came west with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Chase, when she was three years old. They settled in Jackson county where she lived until her marriage in June, 1871, to Theodore Prosser. The farmed then three miles east of Oxford Junction.

Mr. Prosser died in 1890 and Mrs. Prosser continued to live on the farm until in1900, she retired to Oxford Junction where she made her home with her daughter until the time of her death. She had been in failing health for some time. She was the mother of six daughters, three of whom preceded her in death.

Those surviving are Mrs. Art Skinner, Mrs. Chauncy Robinson and Mrs. Lathrop, all of Oxford Junction, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
