Death of Willis Raffety

Willis Raffety, brother of Mrs. James W. Beatty, of this city, died of paralysis at his residence in Bowne’s Prairie, Jones County, Wednesday night at 11 o’clock, after an illness extending over a year.

Mr. Raffety had been a keen sufferer and during the greater part of his illness was afflicted with blindness. He was about 40 year old, and was a son of William Raffety, deceased, formerly a resident of Washington Township. Fifteen years ago he married Mildred Bodenham, daughter of Rev. John Bodenham. She died in Grinnell four years ago, and left him two children, Grace aged 13 years, and Mildred aged 5 years. In April, 1894, he married Miss Susan Flint, of Bowen Prairie.

The funeral will take place at the residence, and the remains will be interred in the cemetery on Bowen Prairie.
