MARTELLE--Harry Holcomb, 87, Martelle, died Tuesday, May 23, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following an illness of one month.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at the Christian church, Martelle. Rev. Austin Reynolds, Martelle, officiated at the service. Burial was in Norwich cemetery, Martelle. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers included Elmer Oldorf, Elmer James, Gerald Armstrong, Lolin Remington, Arthur Siver and Willard Lacock.

He was born April 23, 1874, son of Clinton Holcomb and Sarah Pierce Holcomb, Martelle. He was married Nov. 27, 1902, to Dora Wallick, Cedar Bluffs. He lived his married life in the Martelle vicinity.

He was cashier of the Martelle bank until 1909 when he started farming south of Martelle. He was a member of the Christian church and Masonic lodge, Martelle, and Anamosa A.F.A.M. No. 46.

Survivors include his wife Dora; two sons, Lawrence Holcomb and Kenneth Holcomb, Martelle; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
